Tantrums, Meltdowns and OT

We’ve all experienced or seen them.

The high-pitched screams filling the air, scrunched faces and tears.

Meltdowns and tantrums are distressing for everyone involved. They can turn a relaxing and fun day out with your child into a nightmare. These situations are difficult to navigate and is a common referral we receive from parents and teachers.

In this rapid response, clinical team leader Jacky Peile offers insight into why these meltdowns may occur and how Occupational Therapy can help.

If you have concerns about the frequency of your child’s meltdowns in the home or at school, we are happy to have a quick chat with you to discuss if Occupational Therapy is suitable for you!
